Superconductor Magneto-optics and Theory

چکیده

Some remarks are made on how to determine by magneto-optical imaging the electric currents flowing in a superconductor. The inversion problem is discussed how to compute these currents from the magnetic field measured in a planar magneto-optical indicator film positioned close to the conductor. Next, some geometries are listed for which the currents and magnetic fields can be computed from first principles for given constitutive laws of the superconductor. Finally, an example is given how novel current loops appear in a thin flat superconductor during the application of a large dc field and weak in-plane ac field that causes the critical currents to relax anisotropically.

Bending analysis of magneto-electro-thermo-elastic functionally graded nanobeam based on first order shear deformation theory

In this research, analysis of nonlocal magneto-electro-thermo-elastic of a functionally graded nanobeamdue to magneto-electro-elastic loads has been done. In order to formulate the problem the Timoshenko theory of beams is utilized. The principle of virtual work, Hamilton’s principle as well as nonlocal magneto-electro-thermo-elastic relations has been recruited to derive the governing eq...

Longitudinal Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect in Ce:YIG Thin Films Incorporating Gold Nanoparticles

We report an experimental study on optical and magneto-optical properties of Cesubstituted yttrium iron garnet thin films incorporating gold nanoparticles. Au nanoparticles were formed by heating Au thin film on cubic quartz and garnet substrate in vacuum chamber and a Ce:YIG layer was deposited on them by the aid of Pulsed laser deposition method. A large enhancement of the longitudinal Kerr e...

Using an electronic tight-binding theory we calculate the nonlinear magneto-optical response from an x-Cu/1Fe/Cu(001) film as a function of frequency and Cu overlayer thickness (x=3. . .25). We find very strong spinpolarized quantum well oscillations in the nonlinear magneto-optical Kerr effect (NOLIMOKE). These are enhanced by the large density of Fe d states close to the Fermi level acting as...

Angle dependence of Andreev scattering at semiconductor–superconductor interfaces

We study the angle dependence of the Andreev scattering at a semiconductor– superconductor interface, generalizing the one-dimensional theory of Blonder, Tinkham and Klapwijk. An increase of the momentum parallel to the interface leads to suppression of the probability of Andreev reflection and increase of the probability of normal reflection. We show that in the presence of a Fermi velocity mi...

On the Buckling the Behavior of a Multiphase Smart Plate based on a Higher-order Theory

Magneto-electro-elastic materials are multiphase smart materials that exhibit coupling among electrical, magnetic and mechanical energy fields. Due to this ability, they have been the topic of numerous research in the past decade. In this paper, buckling behavior of a multiphase magneto-electro-elastic rectangular plate with simply supported boundary conditions is investigated, based on Reddy’s...
